As I understand it, GNOME Books is supposed to find epubs in my ~/Books directory. I have about 80 books in that folder in PDF, ePub, and other formats. Yet, when I open Books it shows my collection as empty. There are no settings or import options of any kind (this seems to be very unfashionable these days).

gnome-books looks pretty unfinished and seems abandoned, but it’s distributed in a bunch of Linux distributions including Fedora. I’m looking for a ebook reader application, so thought I’d give this a try.

I've tried to install it but I can't figure out how to use it. Though, it does look the same as "Documents" to me and this is also an URL that's in dnf info gnome-books

Why don't you shoot the author of Gnome Books an email and ask for the current status. Development on github seems not to be very active.

I do recommend using calibre - I am sure you are aware of it existence...

development seems to be happening here: , but it appears to not include the author you listed above.
