fdisk- can't change partition type to raid autodetect

Fedora 23 Server installed on /dev/sdc two other disks installed /dev/sda & /dev/sdb fdisk /dev/sda used to setup 1 partition (Primary) and used "t" to change to "fd" Raid fdisk /dev/sdb used to setup 1 partition (couldn't make primary partition) tried to use "t" to change partition to "fd" Type of partition 1 is unchanged: Linux filesystem.

This question was closed as a duplicate but reopened because the original was deleted. This edit should bring the question back to the front page so that members can help with it.

As a moderator I can still reach the duplicate, but it was never answered and I've no idea why it was deleted. Reopening this one.

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/diskname bs=1k count=1
blockdev --rereadpt /dev/diskname
edit flag offensive delete link more
