Mixing XFCE and GNOME in F16

I use XFCE. However, many GNOME components (i.e. programs, daemons, panel applets) are used e.g. gnome-screensaver, gnome-keyring-daemon, gdm, gnome-sound-applet, etc.

At this point, I'm wondering if XFCE plays nicely with GNOME components. Should I rather try to select XFCE components as much as possible?

You can always do that, as a normal install of XFCE application in your Gnome Desktop. If you are looking for anything specific please be clear in your questions.

XFCE and gnome / gnome applications / services should do just fine together.

In general, with anything resembling a modern (large) hard drive I would say mix and match as you like.

I use XFCE and , for example, prefer gedit to leaf/mousepad.

Is there a specific application, service, lib, or component you have a question about ?
