Hi,

I am running Fedora Core 16 (3.2.7-1.fc16.x86_64) on an HP ProBook 4530s. The system is completely up to date. This problem led me to doing a complete update.

We have an HP Laserjet 1020 shared on a Windows XP machine in our office.

When I use HPijs or HPCups drivers, print job reports that it is completed, but the printer does not actually print.

I then followed the instructions for installing foo2zjs from their website and the printer is working fine when printing documents in portrait, but when trying to print landscape it seems that the document is not "rotated" on the paper. I.E. It prints the document as if the paper feed is landscape even though it is fed portrait. (I hope this makes sense)

I have also tried to connect the printer via USB to my PC and it has the same result. When using HPLIP with USB the printer works as expected, but it does not support samba.

Any assistance will be appreciated.

Something that may work for fedora 16 to windows xp host computer . It worked for me . Go to the windows xp computer. Instructions: click start then click run . In the run window type the word : command ,this will bring up the dos command terminal. Type ipconfig/all this will show the xp computer's ip address something like 192.168.. ,remember this number . Then go to the Fedora computer and open the terminal and type ping the xp's ip address. ( ping 192.168..... ) It will ping and show whether it is detecting the xp computer. Assuming it detected the xp computer ; .On the Fedora computer go to applications select printer. click on add printer then click network this will bring up a host box, enter the xp's ip address and click verify or search this will take a minute and should come back with "found access to your printer" . Now all you have to do is select your printer from list , foward and print test page.

You could file a bug report against the driver.
