Hello,

I'm running Fedora Workstation and Fedora Server on two different systems at home and the installs were without issue. However, on an HP desktop I am unable to start the installation via USB. I'm able to boot into the USB, but the option to install does not appear on the menu, only Start Fedora Live or Troubleshooting. After selecting Start Fedora Live the system hangs for 10 seconds and reboots. I've tried this dozens of times.

I'm able to boot into Windows and Ubuntu USB's, just not Fedora Workstation. Is there a difference with the Fedora ISO? I've used a half dozen different USB tools as well as following the install Fedora Install Wiki. I've tried the Fedora Live USB, Gnome-Disk-Utility, UNetBootin, DD, Rufus USB (Windows), Suse USB (Windows). I've tried different thumbdrives and different USB ports on the system. Also, about a month ago I was able to manage installing Fedora Server on this system, but I'm moving to workstation. Any tips or help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Maybe the iso that you are using is not OK. Have tried downloading it again, and then writing it to your USB? You may want to verify it using this guide here, or this one, or download it again and then create the Live-USB again. My experience is that dd always works.

Thanks for the response.

Sorry, I forgot to mention it: I did re-download the ISO and checked the SHA256 hash. Everything checked out. I didn't have time to look at this yesterday, but today I'll put more time into it and I'll update if I find the verdict.

In windows 8, when recording an ISO image, I also had problems then. For some reason Windows 8 does not change the Label stick. In the selection menu of "Start Fedora" I pressed "E" and changed the Label to stick at that which was. That is, my flash drive was Labeled "JJJ" and I changed "root=LABEL:JJJ" Then pressed Ctrl+X and Fedora have started, and then installed it.
