I downloaded and extracted:

tar --lzma -xvf /home/mp/Downloads/sage-5.5-linux-32bit-fedora_release_16_verne_-i686-Linux.tar.lzma

Now I do not know how to run the Sage program, and do not even know where the files not compressed are or which extensions they have. I need to run the program, what to do?

Thanks in Advance

don't confuse with terminal command use nautilus instead :

  • download the binary from here
  • the download file is strored in Download folder
  • Open nautilus and find the files in download folder, right click and extract here
  • you extracted the file, now
  • Open a terminal and :
cd Downloads
cd sage-5.5-linux-64bit-fedora_release_16_verne_-32bit-Linux/
  • The README.txt contains build instructions for Sage. If you downloaded a binary, you do not need to do anything; just execute:

    ./sage
