Hello, I am trying to install Fedora 23 Workstation from a Live USB (created with the SUSE tool). Checksum is fine, and I have this partition scheme actually:

GParted output

The NTFS partitions are related to Windows 8.1

When I try to install Fedora with custom partion configuration (language in the picture below is Italian):

Custom partition configuration

All of them are Standard partitions, and I get this error: (from italian translation) "A storage configuration error has occurred".

So I tried to make the installer work using defaults (automatic partitioning), and getting the error:

0 space left available 0 space left but recoverable from existing partitions.

Things I noted that could help:

  • While starting Fedora with media check, it stops at 4,7% failing (but downloaded iso image checksum was fine, and live image boots without problems - I am currently running it in the hope of finding some help), with some errors like "pch" at the top of the output.
  • GParted says that "The driver descriptor says the physical block size is 2048 bytes, but Linux says it is 512 bytes", and that:

"Partition(s) 1 on /dev/sdb have been written, but we have been unable to inform the kernel of the change, probably because it/they are in use. As a result, the old partition(s) will remain in use. You should reboot now before making further changes.".

Thanks in advance for your help.

I've managed to make it work:

I wiped ALL the HD leaving it unassigned space, then selected automatic partitioning in the installer's partition manager, also because default installation didn't work (0 space left problem).

Now I have Fedora installed.

sorry for misspelled English
