Is there a way to search my Firefox history from the Gnome Activities overview?

I'd like to press the super key and have commonly visited sites pop up as I type, which would open in Firefox. So, in addition to finding apps, it would also act like typing in the location bar in a fresh Firefox tab.

If you think the answer is "No", please give a "No but..." or a "Yes with a little work..."

I don't know about Firefox. Web (package name epiphany) supports searching its bookmarks from the shell, but not history.

I don't think so, but there are Gnome search providers for websites e.g. wikipedia, stackexchange, and there are Firefox addons that extend FF into Gnome Shell. So I suspect it might be possible with some development.
