Installing Fedora, new WD HDD recognized, but not found on install, claims not writable from live-boot

When I try to install Fedora on an HP Pavilion HPE (Intel Core i7 2600) with a brand new Western Digital SATA HDD (2GB Green), It won't do it. The disk manager recognizes the device, but I can't format or write to it. When doing a straight install, the device isn't found/recognized. When installing from live boot, I select the device for sda, but I just get an error.

Did you run a memory test on that machine?
