gnome 3.18 icons size

Is there a way to reduce gnome-shell icons size ? Before it was possible to tweak the gnome-shell.css file but it seems that file has disappeared with 3.18

According to this thread on the Arch Linux forums, it seems that themes are now in binary .gresource files. So the default theme must be in the following file:


This page of the Arch Linux wiki explains how to extract, modify, compile to a newly gresource file. I haven't done it myself, so I can't give more details.

dconf-editor->org->gnome->nautilus->icon-view->default-zoom-level-> (small)
