Upgrading Fedora-22 to Fedora-22 XFCE spin (lossless upgrade possible?) ...

Hello Friends:

I have a full Fedora-22 distribution installed, along with a lot of other software installed and customizations made.

However, I want the HiDPI enabled XFCE software that the Live Fedora-22 XFCE spin provides.

If I initiate an installation (from USB) of the Live Fedora-22 XFCE spin, will that instillation offer the ability to preserve everything else that is already installed? In other words, will the end result be a super-set of what I have initially installed, with only additions made by the spin install/upgrade (but nothing lost or removed)?

Thanks in advance!

No, there is no option to perform that sort of an installation procedure from Fedora Live media.

Fortunately, what you probably want to do is simply to install the XFCE Desktop group:

sudo dnf group install xfce

It works well in a lab machine with Fedora 22 Workstation installed and fully updated; you can simply choose XFCE from the GNOME Desktop Manager when you boot up (the little cogwheel icon next to the "Sign In" button).
