Hello Ladies and Gents,

I would like to use fedora 17 for my Exo PC Tablet PC. It's working fine but I have a problem with the virtual keyboard system. I always have to open it manualy for using it and I cant use it f.e. for typing passwords. So maybe you can help me with one of these solutions:

  1. I've a button (0xf8) and I would like to use it to open the virtual keyboard. Is there a command I can use to open the keyboard and can I use it for my passwords.
  2. Is it possible to open the virtual keyboard automaticaly if I enter a text box?

I hope you can help me.

greatings...

What desktop environment are you using? Gnome-shell has an accessibility setting where you can enable the virtual keyboard permanently.

Click on the accessibility icon in the top right, next to sound. Switch on "Screen keyboard".

Hello,

I use Gnome. Acc, Settings are switched on but often I cant open the keyboard. f.e. when typing passwords and often it disappears in the lower task bar. Is there a shell command to open it?
