I just made a fresh install of fedora 22 on my desktop from a UEFI live usb.

When it tries to connect to my wired network (my router) with DHCP, it fails, saying "IP configuration was unavailable". When i tried a static IP address, it showed connected, but even the router did not respond to my pings.

I checked the router settings, it's normal. I tried both Fedora-Workstation and Fedora-KDE. The same. It was fully functional on my windows before i removed it to install fedora.

Any thoughts?

UPDATE: My ethernet controller is: Intel Corporation Ethernet Connection I217-V (rev 04)

do an lspci | grep Ethernet to see what manufacture is your network card

Since it is an Intel card it should not have any issue with your kernel modules, check your wire, just in case it is not connected.

@aeperezt It is in perfect shape. I changed the cable though, even the router. The same. It worked perfectly in windows.

It is not right, if not hardware issue, only other think could be is firewall, systemctl stop firewalld and test. also check that you have loaded the kernel module lsmod and see if your nic module is in there

I rebooted the pc and the router a few times, nothing changed. Then i booted into 'rescue' mode of fedora, and it connected ok. Then i rebooted into normal mode, and all of a sudden it was fixed. I don't know what had happened or how it got fixed, but glad it's over now.

I have the same issue as you were having. The wired connection works fine, in recovery mode, on a single-boot system running a clean install of Fedora 22 but as soon as I boot the other kernel the ethernet connection says it's connected but I have no internet. Wireless works though.
