This has already been written and answered in the wiki of fedoraproject.

There are several ways to upgrade to Fedora 23. The recommended way is described here.

(So, no need to create a new wiki page here.)

How do I do it? (assuming you are on a "plain" Fedora 22 - if you have rawhide repo enabled it won't work like this. In this case, I recommend a plain re-install because an upgrade process would require downgrading...not foreseen.)

  1. Update your system using the standard updater for your desktop (or dnf or pkcon for non-graphical installs): sudo dnf upgrade

  2. Install the Package dnf-plugin-system-upgrade package: sudo dnf install dnf-plugin-system-upgrade

  3. Download the updated packages: sudo dnf system-upgrade download --releasever=23
  4. Trigger the upgrade process: sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot
  5. Wait for the upgrade process to complete.

Right, this is the official way to upgrade to F23 (before that: FedUp). Don't forget the system-upgrade part so you actually use the plugin.

I recommend not upgrading from Fedora 22 to Fedora 23 yet.

  • Upgrades have not yet been tested, as the beta of Fedora 23 will not be released for another couple of weeks.
  • According to the Fedora Project Wiki, the standard upgrade processes will not support upgrading from a pre-release install to the official release. Instead, a re-install is recommended.

A fresh install is the best way to try the pre-release.
