Hello,

recently I installed fedora 22 on my laptop. My previous distro was Manjaro and I was quite happy with it but decided to give fedora 22 a try.... I must say I just ran through the installation process quite quickly and didn't pay much attention to what I was setting up. I think I checked something that was supposed to make my laptop boot faster, but I might be wrong here.

Anywho, here's the deal after pushing my power button the laptop tries to boot and then stops working, takes a few tries to make him boot, if it boots it works flawlessly. Thing is after pushing the power button (or holding it, doesn't matter) the HDD "working" LED seems to turn on and then it turns off if the boots fails kind of funny. With a successful boot both LEDs are working. This is the notebook: SAMSUNG NP350e5c-a05.

Here's a screen http://imgur.com/szBOnSO

The first LED is blacked out most of the time, the 2nd one is the one I think suggests where lies the problem, 3rd (green) is the power, and 4th (blue) shows wether laptop is working/hibernated (then it is emitting light) or not.

I haven't met with this problem using manjaro or arch... I haven't yet looked for the solution but if there will be none I'll just swap back, because it really is uncomfortable trying to boot the notebook like 6 times... :/ Please help.

Edit: 2nd led is responsible for wifi, 1st is the HDD sorry for misunderstanding I meant the 1st led - not sure if that matters.

When your computer starts to boot do you get to the fedora logo boot animation screen or it fails immediately? If problem starts there please push <F2>, which should give you textual output of the boot process that's otherwise hidden behind plymouth screen, and see if there are some errors.

It doesn't get to the logo, neither the menu where you choose fedora kernel (I think it's grub). The screen is black and it just fails right after I start it up. Oh also I did a typo, I think it was the first led that "pings" and then nothing happens. Maybe it's just something wrong with the HDD because I don't even see the samsung logo right now... :o It worked after 11th try now.

Update: it seems that it boots up when I plug in usb mouse, touchpad doesn't seem to work and it used to - pretty sure it used to work.

Yeah, it seems that you have some kind of hardware issue since sometimes you can't even get to POST screen.

Agreed; if you can get your hands on something like the Ultimate Boot CD or perform any onboard hardware diagnostics built into the laptop, that may root out the cause of the problem.
