How do I install Wickr, or any other .deb package in Fedora?
Wickr only provides .deb for their Linux version. I contacted them and asked if they are planning to release a .rpm package, but unfortunately they do not get that question enough to prioritise it. Also, I was the first to ask for a Tarball archive.
I first tried to use alien, but the .deb package seems to be very customised, so the install fails. Then I tried to unpack the .deb, place the files according to the data archive. Still no success.
I have even tried to just run the bin file in hope that it would just start (I know, wishful thinking).
Any suggestions on how to get a program running by installing it manually?
Where I find the source code? because if not it is a closed program...
Unfortunately it's closed source. It's a good piece of software and they have a good rating from EFF. I think they would have more Linux users if they provided a Tarball such as BitTorrent does with Sync.
