How do I install Wickr, or any other .deb package in Fedora?

The .deb package for Wickr contains the bin file and lib files. It's closed source, so it's precompiled. I checked the link you provided and it seems to focus on when you make deb/rpm from scratch. Unfortunately I have no experience in making rpm pakcages, especially not taking the content from a .deb and making a .rpm package from it.

I even tried to follow this instruction, attempting to apply to Wickr, but it seems the .deb is extremely customised and specific to Wickr.

I might add when doing a dnf search checkinstall the package isn't found.

This is why I wrote "download and install," instead of just "install." Sometimes you have to install things that aren't in the Fedora repos, and this might be one of those times.

Oh right, sorry for the the misunderstanding, a bit sleep deprived. I'll give that a go and see if I can get it working. I might also look at how to create an rpm from scratch too, as I doubt I'm the only one in the world that is keen to get Wickr easily installed in Fedora.

I gave fpm a go as it seemed more suitable for me as I just want to get this done without having to read several howtos.

I tried to create a rpm from deb and from dir. From dir it just did not work at all. From deb I could install, but the app didn't work, it couldn't access it's own database.

I might give it a go another time or just hope they'll release an rpm or even a tarball binary archive. I just don't have the time to fiddle with this right now.
