I have upgrade a from f21 to f22 using "fedup" (KDE spin). When I log into to KDE, now named plasma, I find all the user setting have gone. Mouse is back to right hand, should be left hand, all short cut keys gone, kwin setting gone, etc. Every KDE setting appear to of become "factory setting". Should these not carry over from KDE4 to KDE (5) plasma, or some script run to convert them over. I will take me hours to set everything back as I like. I also need to do this for several other users, so manually doing this is not an option. Is there a convert script, or has some auto convert script not run (a bug), or is this a lack of backwards compatibility?

Plasma 5 uses standard XDG directories for storing config and various data. There is no ~/.kde for apps based on frameworks 5. Some applications that are still kde4 will retain their settings but the one's that have moved to frameworks 5 like Plamsa desktop will not. This is unfortunate but a good decision for future.

I found this to be true migrating from Fedora 21 to Fedora 23. It is a shame that the KDE team didn't create any sort of settings migration tool.
