I want one with at least a 14" screen so netbooks are out but can anyone recommend a laptop/ultrabook that will work with Fedora either a pre-built that comes with Fedora installed or one that I can wipe and install Fedora myself.

Lenovo T440s (used so cheaper) or new Lenovo T450s if your budget allows, best laptop you can get with all Intel hardware so everything works perfectly out of the box.

Fedora has very low hardware requirement.

You can choose among different desktop environment that suits your hardware most, such as xfce, kde, gnome.

Go with any netbook which in your budget and forget all worries. Fedora will rock on any of them. :)

This link will let you choose among different desktop environment available with Fedora.

Well welcome to the world on Fedroa :)

Just avoid anything with the GMA3600 Graphics chipset. Intel outsourced it and as a result driver support is... lacking, to put it lightly.

I have a "Sony VAIO Z Series VPC-Z213GX",it is a very powerful Ultrabook, Fedora 17-64 bit work perfect on it without any trick and additional configurations.

Have a nice time.

I would avoid anything with Nvidia Optimus video cards, these are not currently fully supported and I have had some trouble configuring mine.

Once you come up with a few options I would search online to see if many people have had problems with the specific models.

I hop that this is of some help - sorry its not actually a recommended list!

I bought the Lenovo Yoga 13, I really liked it but returned it as Fedora would not work properly on it. No wireless and no touchpad support for this system.
