I have found several tutorials on line to install museek+ on Fedora, but none work (e.g. museek is nowhere to be found in repo's).

I also tried Nicotine+ and I am not really happy with it, contrary to museekd + museeq which worked flawlessly on Ubuntu.

Could you advise me as to how I can install museek on Fedora 16?

I have a related problem depicted here (ask.fedoraproject.org/question/31289/how-to-install-cmake/). Building museek+ from source is not as easy as it sounds, as you need to install cmake first. Have you overcome the problem of installing cmake and finally got museek+ running? It would be great if you shared your experience.

Please note that Fedora 16 is EOL and no longer supported. Please try compiling it from source on a Fedora 19 system.

If there isn't package in official repository try to find it elsewhere. If it isn't anywhere try to use older version (I see that package is now orphan, so earlier it was in repo), try to find older rpm. If there is no older rpm or there are some problems with installation, you must (and there is a real answer to your question) build it from source.

Unfortunately, the package has been orphaned by the maintainer, although there is an older release built for Fedora 15. There are packages on the page for the older release.
