installing windows 7 will surely erase the GRUB from MBR so boot from live cd after installing windows and install GRUB

if you install windows 7 in other disk volume (primary) it will not erase fedora 17 but erase the grub and then see will see that you are unable to boot in fedora

now you have 2 option to fix them

1 - Add Fedora 17 in Windows boot loader

it can be done by using easyBCD simply add boot entry (grub 2) it will automatically detect the Fedora partition .

2 Add windows 7 in grub2 by reinstalling grub for this see the video

After this if your windows in not listed in grub 2 then type

grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg

Even if Windows is not listed retry after mounting your Windows drive

    Have a look at [video](http://www.youtube.com/watch?WJDcyAncmRY&v=1IvEC3L3TMw)

There are ways to handle this issue with tools provided by Fedora. Since this is a Fedora support venue, it seems most appropriate to provide answers using those tools.

There are a number of tools that can help you resize your partitions - just make sure you are resizing the filesystem AND the partition. When it comes time to reinstall GRUB, consult http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/17/html/Installation_Guide/ap-rescuemode.html
