Video Card ATI , Softwares , Wifi Problem
Good evening !
I installed fedora couple of days ago and I tried to read some of the answers here hoping that I can learn something , and I did !
But I am still confused about many things which I hope you can help me with , so here I go :
My video card is HD Radeon 8750M ! I installed the drivers I think ( cause it says driver in use radeon ) Even so .. I think the video card is active all the time , it consumes more I think and the laptop is warmer are there are commands to see if my intel graphic card is working or its installed ?
Wifi Problem - I am sitting like 1 meter away from my modem and 80% of the time i have only 3 bars of signal
3rd. I had on windows 7 some softwares that came with the laptop , softwares for audio card , video card .. etc .. is there any way to install them ? on the hp website they dont show up . How can I configure the sound properly and my video card settings if I cant get them
Thanks for your help !
You cannot install the windows software's that came with the laptop. Fedora is built with necessary software's to make your hardware work out of box. Is there no sound at all? Normally there is no need to install ATI proprietary drivers as the fedora built in driver works pretty well.
there is sound and i can watch hd videso 1080 p what i meant is that i cant set for example the sound to a style .. like hip - hop , or opera or club etc
oh and any idea why I cant ping anyone ? yahoo.com or google.com , i cant ping .. nothing happens just says 100% packet loss
By “sound style,” I think you're talking about equalizer settings? There are some stand-alone equalizer programs available (use the “Software” program to install things), or you may want to use a music player program that has that function. — In general, look in “Software” for everything first. (BTW, if you're only 1m from your WiFi router, you may actually be “so close” that you have lower signal!)
