How can I set a new default for screen brightness and keyboard backlight?

I'm using Fedora 17 on a Macbook Pro 3,1 for the first time.

Currently, whenever I login the screen brightness and keyboard backlight are set to the maximum.

However, this default is never needed. Therefore, I'd like to set a custom default (e.g. no keyboard backlight, 50% screen brightness).

Unfortunately, I've got no knowledge of how to go about this in Fedora. Can you please help me?

It seems to be a bug or was a bug Bug695087.

I dont have this Problem on Fedora 17 try to set the Values with gsetttings.

If this doesnt work either you could try it with this Python Script on Startup!

Or you could try changing this File /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness to a Value between 0-10.
