How to change the user name on fedora 22? [closed]

I would like to rename my current user name on fedora 22. Which is the safe way to do the same? It should take care of things like home directory change and so on. Can anyone help me in achieving this rename?

Hi Anoop, here is the confusing thing. Even if the closing-a-question-dialog offers the choose "the question is answered, right answer was accepted" it is not intended to close correctly answered questions. (I have no idea why this option exists).

In this case here, I guess it is OK to close it since it is kind of duplicate of the questions referred in my answer below...

This is what you need (answer of @mclmmc).

For more info type man usermod in your terminal.
