Hi, I have installed xampp on my desktop and it was working well, until recently MySQL just stopped working. My log file contains the following at the bottom.

2015-06-30 11:21:59 5854 [ERROR] /opt/lampp/sbin/mysqld: Can't find file: './mysql/user.frm' (errno: 13 - Permission denied) 2015-06-30 11:21:59 5854 [ERROR] Fatal error: Can't open and lock privilege tables: Can't find file: './mysql/user.frm' (errno: 13 - Permission denied) 2015-06-30 11:21:59 5495 mysqld_safe mysqld from pid file /opt/lampp/var/mysql/phutionlinux.pid ended

From what directory are you launching XAMPP? The subdirectory, mysql, has to be in that directory.

I'm using this command # /opt/lampp/lampp start

Does locate user.frm find the file? What directory says pwd? Is /opt/lampp/lampp a shell script? If so, does it have a line to change directory (cd)?

I think the problem is SELinux, some of my programs were starting well now SELInux is blocking them.
