I'm currently seeking to replace webapps in my workflow with a desktop ones, as want to rely less on my browser and to expand battery life. As far as I know, for google drive there was "grive", but its' upstream is dead and no rpm can be found in reliable sources. So, maybe anyone know good google-drive client that can be found in any fedora repos, maybe even copr?

If you not fixed on gdrive, you should try MEGA. more space and a native Linux client.

As of today, there is no good client for Fedora 21/22 to integrate Google Drive in Gnome. (Commercial clients aside, haven't tried any of those).

Now we just need two instructions:

dnf copr enable sergiomb/google-drive-ocamlfuse
dnf install google-drive-ocamlfuse

Old instructions, as root:

dnf copr search opam
dnf copr enable jonludlam/opam
dnf install opam
dnf install ncurses-devel fuse-devel curl-devel sqlite-devel zlib-devel m4

as user:

opam init --comp=4.02.1
opam config env
opam install google-drive-ocamlfuse
mkdir /home/sergio/gdrive
~/.opam/4.02.1/bin/google-drive-ocamlfuse /home/sergio/gdrive

is working on Fedora23

Depending on how you use Google Drive rclone might be worth a look. I use it to sync a local folder on my laptop, I have had pretty good luck with it. Also supports other cloud services.

As for @hhlp request, I'm including the instraction to install the MEGA sync client

  • get your client from

  • install the client with dnf

    # dnf install ./megasync-Fedora_23.x86_64.rpm

Then you use the GUI to finish the setup process.

I'm actually using google-drive by simply configuring Gnome settings, in fedora 23 (Gnome 3.18.2).

By adding your google account in settings>online accounts you must be able to access to drive directly in nautilus. Don't know if it can be useful.

@cicco as you mention in your post this is for fedora >= 23

There is a program called "Insync". While I have not personally used it I heard from few people how good and reliable it is so maybe it's worth to give it a try. For me, big downside is that you need to pay for it $20 per year :-(
