Sorry guys, but I've Installed Fedora 20 and so far it appears to be total crap!

I can't add any accounts. It doesn't sign into my Google account and the pop up window is too small to log into Facebook. Guess what? There's no way of expanding it. Dragging it to the top of screen does nothing. There's no explaination of how Owncloud works. So that's useless for a newbie.

Also, the software centre does not load either.

It also doesn't recognise my dvd writer.

Other than that, good job!

It seems from my experience of all Linux systems, that you need to have a PHD in order to understand them.

Hardly any software downloaded from the internet is self installing.

Ok, it's a cheap alternative to Windows, but come on! It's so frustrating if you don't know code.

I can't find the question in your post...

Hey, welcome to Fedora! Anything completely new and radically different can be frustrating. Sometimes the new thing is flawed, and sometimes you expect it to work differently than it actually does, so you perceive it as flawed. Both are equally possible here, but you're going the wrong way about learning how to work the system.

Tackle your problems one at a time, look for information about how to use each individual feature, and ask questions about specific things when you need to. As a very new Fedora user, you'll find that the most common issues are already covered, but we're here to help if you need it.

Try to remember that is is a peer support community. Fedora is not a cheap alternative of Windows, it's a viable operating system in it's own right with millions and millions of users. Some of those users volunteer ...(more)

@Florian, not related to this question but I noticed that you are closing questions with an accepted answer. please don't do that. The guidelines advise against it.

@mether. Oh I didn't know that. Thought that is an indication of a solved problem. I am not going to do so in the future.

@daniel. When I switched from Windows to Linux, I had a few moments of frustration but I found them to be minimal with Ubuntu. You might wanna try this, especially because there a a lot of forums and wikis out there!
