I have bought a new scanner, Canon Canoscan Lide 220. It is checked as completed and supported in Sane-Backend development git. I know very well that the exact time can not be given but how long does it take it "aproximately" to come to Fedora 21 repos? Should I wait or try to compile it by myself?

Thanks in advance.

The best solution is suggest update the package from bugzilla... https://bugzilla.redhat.com/ If the baby does not cry, do not receive milk. ;)

OK. I'll cry as much as I can. :) Thanks.

Most package maintainers wait for a new upstream release to update a package. Most do not like carrying git snapshots unless absolutely necessary.

For major package upgrades, we have the updates policy here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Updates_Policy
