Unable to update Vlc due to libgpg error

 You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem

This is unnecessary unless you actually need to run the latest packages. Just wait a day or two to run the update (It's working today: 2015/03/13); libgpg will soon be added to the regular repos.

Also see

yum --enablerepo=updates-testing update libgpg-error

The line above will work. It is telling yum to get libgpg-error from the updates-testing repository. Yum will get that update and then when you run yum update after that, you'll have a compatible version of libgpg-error.

Enable testing repo may be dangerous. I had the same problem with you when installing vlc. Then I use dnf to install successfully. Try this:

sudo dnf update vlc
edit flag offensive delete link more


There should be no difference in using yum and dnf in this case.

Try the VLC update today. RPM Fusion has apparently fixed the problem -- my update went fine today.
