Recently (read after installation of Fedora 21) my graphical.target stopped working (in plain English - the system refuses to start the graphical.target).

However, when I changed into multi-user.target as the default one, I could start graphical.target manually once I am logged in.

Any idea what could cause this, and how to fix it?

Can you please explain what you mean by "stopped working"? Things don't generally stop working by themselves :)

Was there a system update? Did you change something (as root?) and so on?

OK, I have updated the original text.

You mean that your login manager does not come up?

After it fails to come up, switch to a text mode and check the output of journalctl -b. It should hopefully have logged some errors that we can use.

I already did that, nothing in the journal gives any clues...
