In my logs on a new Fedora 21 system I'm getting loads of errors that all say, for example:

Mar 04 11:45:34 <hostname> gnome-session[25932]: (process:25957): dconf-WARNING **: unable to open file '/$prefix/share/gdm/greeter-dconf-defaults': Failed to open file '/$prefix/share/gdm/greeter-dconf-defaults': open() failed: No such file or directory; expect degraded performance

Fedora 21 with gnome-session 3.14.0-1.fc21.

What's causing this, and should I worry?

(I'm trying to debug GDM not setting a login background with dconf db files and found this in the logs when searching for dconf.)

Well...did you try looking to see if the file is actually there? See if you can find /usr/share/gdm/greeter-dconf-defaults. The file exists on my stock Fedora 21 Workstation VM and its file mode is 644.
