what is the best media for fedora.. dvd or usb

I ordered the dvd.. It turned out to be corrupt

I prepared a live usb.. The boot process failed and system was not starting atleast the already installed windows.

So how to go abt fedora installation?

Sorry to hear that, the DVD that you got was corrupted. If you are unable to download the media via internet, contact one of your local fedora ambassador for a working media.

Both media work (I have personally had success with both). The advantage, to my mind at least, of USB is that if it's corrupt you can just format and have another go or stick it on to another flash drive. The problem is that there have been some issues with UEFI (so you may want to read up on that).

I would recommend asking more specific questions about the failure during the boot process though. This would allow us to help you get a session running.

My solution has been to use the network install disk - a minimal download which then fetches packages from the official repositories to complete it's install. It appears on the list of server downloads on the official site, and is suitable if you have a reasonable internet connection. You can select the workstation type installs from the list with this install style.

As you're ordering physical dvd media, this might not be the best solution for you.
