Does anyone have Zabbix successfully configured in Fedora 20 or 21?

I've installed the zabbix zabbix-{agent,server,server-mysql,web,web-mysql} packages from the fedora-updates repository. Adapting the instructions in the somewhat outdated wiki pages on zabbix.org, I've managed to configure the zabbix-server (apache module), the php-frontend, and the mysql database.

At the moment, I'm not getting any error messages, no avc denials, yet the Web frontend displays "Zabbix Server is not Running". Reverting the ListenIP option in /etc/zabbix_server.conf to 127.0.0.1 from the NIC's LAN-IP resolved the error displayed above.

At this time, what's left to do is to allow for the various script executions; though, I'm skeptical with the default-provided sudo nmap command. I'm still confused about the zabbix-server implementation on Fedora (apache-module); or maybe with the concept of NMS, in general. If the server is configured to run on the loopback interface, how is it connected to the rest of the network? Additionally, what security concerns are there when running it on a production system? Should it be run in a VM?

From the conf file it seems like zabbix add a alias /zabbix to you local settings, also make sure the zabbix service is running.

yea, I got that; however, I'm wondering since the server is supposed to be monitoring the network, perhaps it should be configured for the NIC's IP--i.e. not localhost. I'm missing a key configuration option somewhere. Maybe it's the SourceIP option.
BTW: I gotta update the question, as the server is shown to be running now that I reverted the ListenIP option to 127.0.0.1.

Where did you find the *.sql files to create the new db? I also install from the default Fedora 21 repository.

I think it's in one of the zabbix... packages and/or installed to the /usr/share/zabbix... folder I think.
