how to connect to internet in machines over LAN through a machine running fedora 21
I have several machines running windows and linux connected over a LAN. I want to access internet in these devices through a particular machine running fedora 21 which is also connect over the same LAN. I don't want to use hotspot. I want to use the wired connection. How can I do this. In other words how do I share my internet connection in my machine running fedora 21 with other machines over LAN.
In other words, you want your Fedora machine to act as a router and firewall for your LAN. And, depending on your needs, you may want it to act as a proxy too. Will this machine be used as a server or workstation as well?
You need two LAN cards in your Fedora box. Do you have them?
this machine will be used as a workstation as well
I don't have two LAN cards. I just want to make my fedora machine the gateway and use its internet connection in other machines. I am connecting all these machines through a switch.
I can easily do it by making the fedora machine a hotspot. I can access the internet in other devices over wifi. But I want to access the internet over wired network. How can I do that. The same effect as I have by making my machine a hotspot, I want to achieve through wired network.
