I've installed Fedora 21 Workstation on my desktop (Pentium 2 x 1.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM) alongside Windows XP (dual boot). It loads normally, but hangs every 5-10 min. This happens, in particular, every time I try to install Flash plugin following the prompt from Firefox. The behavior at hanging can be different at random: sometimes the mouse pointer freezes forever, sometimes the mouse pointer moves but mouse-clicks do not work, usually it also stops feeling the keyboard... After I hard reset the computer, it starts working, but freezes again in several minutes. Is there a remedy? (Maybe I should downgrade? I continue to use Fedora 8 on my laptop with similar processor and RAM, but without such problems).

It might be because your computer is overloaded. Pardon me, it's not my area of expertise as such but, I can suggest you what I know. try

sudo yum install flash-plugin -y

By my experience, that should do the trick.

Thank you for the comment and suggestion! You are right: the problem disappeared after I replaced Fedora 21 Workstation by Fedora 21 LXDE!

Update: it seems that the problem occurred just because the standard Fedora 21 Workstation is too resource-demanding. There is no such problem with Fedora 21 LXDE Spin. ;)
