Tag guidelines
Hi
I frequently observe that tag guidelines are not being followed . Please use tags correctly as it helps organize the content and makes it easier for other users to find relevant information quickly.
- Do not add # in tags
- Don't use too generic tags such as "fedora" or "error" or too narrow ones such as "broadcom3421_3e"
- Use existing tags instead of creating new ones if feasible
Refer to the rest of the guidelines at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Ask_fedora_guidelines#List
Request to moderators: Please fix tags regularly as you deal with other moderation activities. Thank you!
Hello, please remove if possible the tags already in the tag cloud starting with # that come up when you start typing tags in. I noticed that it happened when I posted my question about yumex. That is most likely why people are mistakenly still using those on occasion. I used only existing tags where possible and apologise if one contained a hash tag. I thought I chose them without.
#fedora21
was definitely there though as were previous versions. Is there a way of creating a filter so that it ignores the # entries in the suggested tags list that comes up.For a while, I had trouble getting tag changes to 'submit' - and I'm not ruling out operator error :P I have it figured out now, and usually remember to retag when looking at a post. I'll try remembering that more...
askbot shows tags from deleted or closed questions which is why you see tags using # still. This is something that needs to be fixed in askbot.
@mether it would be nice to catch you on IRC sometime. We could talk about updating askbot.
