I have been trying in vain to install VMware on my Fedora 20 system. All is not going well and I want to remove the folder the files are in .The VMware folder is in the etc directory.when i try to move it to trash get a"do not have permission " error message.I am the administrator and this is my machine with no one else on it .when I go into a terminal and enter the su command I get root access. So what gives?

Just to make sure, you're trying to remove the folder as root, not as your normal user. And, please add the results of ls -l /etc/FOLDERNAME to your question, or make it a comment beneath this.
