Has any one got ddclient to work with freedns.afraid.org as a DynDNS provider? The protocol that I use is freedns, the authentication goes fine, but then the only thing that comes back when ddclient tries to update the ip address is "ERROR: Address <previous address=""> has not changed."</previous>

My version of ddclient is 3.8.1

I don't know about freedns.afraid.org , or ddclient, but I do have my own domain, and use dynamic DNS to gain access to my home LAN when I'm not home. I use DNS-EXIT and the daemon it supplies, ipUpdate, which is available from them in .rpm format. From the end-user's POV, the service is "fire and forget," although the instructions on their site are pre-systemd. If you're not familiar with the new format and their instructions don't work (systemd is supposed to understand the old commands, but you never know) just ask here, as a comment to my answer and I'll give you what you need.
