I have an external Seagate HDD. When I try to access some folders in this drive I am getting Input/Output error.

I check the filesystem type using df -T and found the same to be fuseblk. Also I checked dmesg after I accessed the folder and found no error recorded.

The files in those folders are critical for me. Is there any way I could recover the same.

Another thing I noticed is that if I try to open the files using applications like vlc for audio/video and Image viewer for photos I am able to view the files. But The folder viewer application shows me a blank folder and 'ls' in terminal inside the folder give me 'Input/Output error'.

Any guidance is much appreciated.
