Is there any GTK/GNOME GUI for PackageKit other than GNOME Software and GNOME PackageKit Installer?

GNOME PackageKit Installer (package gnome-packagekit-installer) does not seem to work any more on Fedora 21, and GNOME Software does not allow managing non-GUI packages such as library packages (and did not even show package dependencies the last time I checked). Ever since GNOME PackageKit Installer stopped working, Yum/DNF seem(s) to be the only way to manage packages on Fedora with GNOME. Is there any GUI alternative for GTK/GNOME for managing all kinds of packages and dependencies?

Gnome-software isn't a package installer - it's an application installer which means that it'll only list GUI applications. There is an ongoing discussion on how it could be extended to include command line software, but the general consensus is that power users will that intend to use the command line will be comfortable using dnf/yum. Packagekit does not have another GUI for Gnome. You can use yumex, which is a yum/dnf frontend.

Note that packagekit also has a command line: pkcon.

Welcome to Ask Fedora btw. Please take a moment to glance through the guidelines here:

Thanks! I didn't know that bit about GNOME Software. Using Yum/DNF on the command line is an option, of course, and should be. However, using it to list packages when there are many packages to install/remove and I don't know the exact package names, and then selecting package names from that list becomes tedious if done manually. Yumex seems promising, I will take a look.

gnome-software is for Gnome > 3.10 (fedora21) , pkcon is annoying (for me) as it doesn't ask user for install , doesn't work with broken repo.

I really like the Yumex package manager. It is fast, and it works great.

# yum install yumex
