I accidentally deleted the .config file (used for the make menuconfig during kernel compilation) from the kernel tree.

The problem is that there's no .gz backup for that .config file neither in /proc nor in the /boot.

How do I create the .config file from the running kernel ?

You should be able to get this back by running yum install kernel-debug-devel. For me, that file exists in /usr/src/kernels/3.15.10-201.fc20.x86_64+debug.
