My wifi shows up as blocked by hardware, and I cannot enable it. Pressing on the wifi enabling hardware button doesn't work, the light stays red. I have an HP 2000-219DX laptop.

I've tried installing the drivers, and rfkill unblock all. Nothing seems to work. Kernel version 3.15

Does it happen after software update or on clean installation? Do you have the correct kmod/akmod for the kernel?

kmod/akmod? Not sure what that is. It happens whenever I try to use the wifi. It is a clean installation, although I've installed the drivers from Realtek.

The Kmod package contains libraries and utilities for loading kernel modules (Linux From Scratch, Chapter 6). There is more information here: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/view/development/chapter06/kmod.htmlhttp://www.xml.com/ldd/chapter/book/ch11.html About kmod vs akmod - kmods are pre-compiled while akmods/dkms build kernel modules locally. However, kmod-wl provides closed-source Linux drivers for use with Broadcom's wireless chipsets. On the hp support website, there are wifi drivers for your laptop model (HP 2000-219DX) from Ralink, Atheros and Realtek, what is your vendor?

In the question you claim your laptop is HP 200-219DX but I found only HP 2000-219DX - can you correct it if wrong?

Hi, yes, I am using 2000-219DX. I will correct it in the post. Also, I have installed the Realtek drivers, but not from HP. (I'm on Realtek rtl8188ce)
