I can forgive not picking up this particular Broadcom chip, the poor trackpad support ("pointer speed" does nothing), not letting me pick software packages during installation, GNOME 3, yada yada.

But now I've got something fedora core 4 didn't, a decent package manager. I fire up Software Center and it's [ ... ] everywhere. Wtf guys? Software center doesn't update it seems. Alright, I'm gonna go fire up the terminal. Ohh great, it's locked up with another process. What sort of broken pos package manager is this? Why is everything locked up?

I had to leave. Yah know, go smoke a cigarette, drink a little booze. Loose the edge. I get my thoughts in order, and now the lock screen won't go away. Which reminds me that I can't use natural scrolling because the the lock screen is pointing the wrong way. Speaking of the lock screen, why is there nowhere to turn that off? Why is it an extremely counterintuitive pos? How they hell am I supposed to know you swipe up to get that off my screen?

Ohh great, this website doesn't support uploading bug reports, which is why I'm here. I figured that there would be some mechanism for this considering how many bugs there are on the front page. So anyway, why am I getting this output out of running "ps -ef | less"?

Please tell me you guys didn't compile with gcc 4.9...

Anyway, I'm really disappointed. I made the linux jump in at fedora core 4, which was a lot considering I was an XP power user and loved gaming. I loved fedora being a rock-solid OS that worked well and had good terminal support if you needed to do things by hand. OSX fills that need better than other contemporary linux OS'. Of course I'll have to forgive gnome's lack of attention to human interface, so I'll settle for the terminal. I was hopeful Fedora was going to be the functional, stylish, and powerful OS that I remember.

But it's not.

Welcome to askfedora! I'd like to help you, but you haven't asked a question, and this is a place for people to answer questions. You might consider going to the Fedora Forum, http://fedoraforum.org because they have boards dedicated to rants like this. Alas, I'm going to have to close this on the grounds that you haven't asked a question, but please feel free to post again when you have a question to ask.
