Fedora 20 on Asus N550JK won't extend to external monitor
I have a new Asus N550JK ( http://amzn.to/1qmoaS4 ) with a NVidia Geforce GTX 850m graphics card. I have installed Bumblebee + proprietary drivers for the graphics card (for which I followed the instructions listed in http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Bumblebee ). I'm not sure that the driver is working fine because it would flick a little when I watch a video.
However, my issue is that whenever I plug a monitor it won't recognize it and the monitor will receive no signal. I've tried plugging the external monitor, in that case it would mirror the image but still I'm not able to see under Settings->Display so that I can switch to "extend" mode.
Any ideas on how to fix this? Feel free to ask for any further information.
Are you using the nvidia drivers or nouveau? If you have installed it might be interesting to see if "nvidia-settings" sees both your displays under Screen 0 (also assuming you're using xserver and not Wayland). Maybe a little more information about your specific software setup would be helpful.
