Hey guys!

When I tried to vote for @Cobra's answer (don't worry, it was an upvote :P), I got the message 'Sorry, anonymous users cannot vote' as shown below. But, I am surely logged in as there is the edit button, delete button, etc. Is this a bug I should file upstream?

BTW, this is not my Fedora computer.

If you're logged in, how can you be anonymous?

I have no idea, but it has the delete button, so I think I'm logged in.

@hello. Thanks (at least for the attempt). I've upvoted your question too. As a thank you.

Do you need to log out and in again to make it work? I log on with a certificate, and I saw problems similar to this when the anti-spam measures were first put in place. Perhaps it's linked to that.

Weird. I haven't seen this and I switch quite often between firefox and epiphany.

Huh, where's my comment?! Well anyway, I said that that it happens 4/10 times on Chrome (well, Chromium actually) and the Firefox :).

  • your cookie expired, or
  • you logged out from other tab, or
  • someone / something deleted your session on the server :), or
  • there are several servers and your session is not sticky.

If it happens again, open the inspector / developer tools / firebug, go to the network tab, then XHR if it is available and look for the ajax query it was supposed to do. You will be able to check the query to see if the cookie was in there.
