I am using the latest version of Google Chrome (36.0.1985.125) on Fedora 20, 64-bit. I have been scouring the net for an answer on how to get DRM Flash videos to work on Google Chrome and the Java plugin to work. So far, I have been unsuccessful. I have the latest version of the regular (not Pepper) Flash plugin with HAL and also IcedTea. All these work in Firefox but not in Chrome. The most common answers that I have found and tried are:

Pepper plugin does not support DRM so disable it in Chrome and make a symlink to the regular Flash plugin (or copy) in /opt/google/chrome. Enable the new plugin in Chrome. [New plugin never appeared in Chrome]

Same for Java: make symlink to Java plugin. [Plugin never appeared in Chrome]

None of these have worked. Recently, I read that Chrome no longer supports NPAPI plugins so neither the regular Flash nor IcedTea work.

Is this correct? Is there any other way to: 1) Watch DRM videos in Chrome? 2) Have a working Java plugin in Chrome?

Thanks

Exist other alternative "Pipelight" but doesn't work anymore, because Chrome has dropped support of NPAPI plugins and only supports PPAPI plugins. Since pipelight is (likely) a NPAPI plugin, it cannot be used in Chrome. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/1307989

This is correct, all the Chromium-based browsers don't support NPAPI plug-ins anymore as of now.

1) It depends on how the content is provided to you by the site you're accessing, if it's through H.264 you might be able to watch it. Go to the chrome:flags page and enable the Encrypted Media Extensions.

2) No. Only if Oracle releases a PPAPI Java plug-in.
