I'm trying to pair my laptop with my home theatre so that I can play music off it using bluetooth. My phone connects to the home theatre without any trouble at all. Here's what I tried:

[asinha@ankur-laptop ~]$ bluetoothctl
[NEW] Controller 38:59:F9:CB:F9:8E ankur-laptop [default]
[NEW] Device 5C:F6:DC:14:DB:D1 SamsungHTS-14DBD1

[bluetooth]# help

        Blocked: no
        Connected: no
        LegacyPairing: no

I've even tried with the bluetooth gnome 3 settings UI, but it won't work. When I click the entry for the media centre, it just spins and nothing happens.

This is all I can find in journalctl:

Jul 15 16:36:12 ankur-laptop pulseaudio[2038]: [pulseaudio] bluez5-util.c: Properties changed in a device which information is unknown or invalid

The required pulseaudio module is loaded: module-bluetooth-discover Any hints? Could be a bug?

[asinha@ankur-laptop ~]$ rpm -qa \*bluez\*
[asinha@ankur-laptop ~]$ rpm -qa \*gnome-settings\*
[asinha@ankur-laptop ~]$ rpm -q pulseaudio

EDIT 1: The packages suggested by are not available on Fedora 20:

No package bluez-compat available.
No package bluez-gstreamer available.
No package bluez-alsa available.

The problem is specific to the home theatre. I can connect my cell phone to my laptop just fine.

A google search says

You have to install these packages!

After installing the above packages, go to sound settings panel->output tab->bluetooth audio receiver output. Also click on the bluetooth icon->receiver device-> click ON.

It shows the device, as you can see from the output of hcitoolctl but it won't connect. The above packages are not available in Fedora 20.

No package bluez-compat available.
No package bluez-gstreamer available.
No package bluez-alsa available.
