Hi!

Since there are not many good resources for first time Linuxers/Fedorers to install Linux, especially Fedora on UEFI hardware with Windows 8 or higher, I have decided to make a HOW-TO guide for people to install Fedora. Right now, I cannot upload this file because I am low on karma.

Thanks,

James

EDIT: Thanks guys, now I have enough karma. Feel free to edit the ppt and send me revisions :)

EDIT2: Will post the ppt soon, it's on my other computer.

EDIT3: The link to the pdf is https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4k-eNFAWqjJVkkwQXlGLWlxTVE/edit?usp=sharing

Is the Fedora 20 Installation Guide inadequate in some way? I installed Fedora 20 on a UEFI system, myself, and I didn't encounter any problems.

Yes, in a way, but if you have 2 seperate /boot/efi's, GRUB cannot recognize the Win8 bootloader. IMO, when I first tried to install using that guide, I had no idea what I was doing. I messed the install up by using EasyBCD.

@hello - was your presentation intended to address the multiple EFI partition problem? It looked mostly like "Install regularly, reboot" to me.

If you have constructive criticism about the installation guide, i'm sure the feedback would be welcome,

@randomuser - I found nothing about the two efi partition error when I installed the first time. I looked at the guide, also nothing about the error. After searching for 2 hrs, finally I found this: https://ask.fedoraproject.org/en/question/41984/uefi-dual-boot-windows-81-and-fedora-20/ . The first time anyone installs, I'm pretty sure that newbies will not know this error. It's not mentioned in the guide (as far as I know) and it's not easy to find on the internet.

@hello have you checked for, or filed, any bugs against GRUB for the multiple EFI problem, or the installation guide for not addressing multiple EFI partitions?

@randomuser - No, not yet.... How do I do that?
