I have two problems with my Fedora20 setup on an HP Pavillion. My screen resolution is distorted, everything is just stretched out, but when I do go settings->display there is no option to change the resolution.

The other issue is that it does not detect my external monitor, but that works fine in windows.

output of /var/log/Xorg.0.log is http://fpaste.org/103889/

If you don't plug-in external monitor, is still everything stretched. It might be necessary to logoff before there is any change. If the the problem occurs only when you connect an external monitor, please provide the output of xrandr when the it is connected.

if the external is not plugged in when I boot, then the screen is not stretched. but the external still does not work. xrandr output (with monitor not plugged in)
