Had tried installing fedora onto my older asus(2010). When i go to the start-up(bios) screen, i get lost and can't find where to switch over and download fedora from my usb data key. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't know if this is still a actual problem, but I've managed to install FEDORA 20 on an ASUS EEE PC 1005HA. No severe problems, only the build in WiFi card does not support WPA2 PSK (WPA works however).

Plug in an external USB cdrom or live image on usb memory stick. Power on the EEE and select the boot menu.

choose your device from the on screen menu and wait for the external image to boot up.

Since nobody other than you can put hands on your computer, you should find your own way to change the boot disk order. Patiently go through all the options you see in the bios.

In some systems, there is a separate option to choose Primary Boot Media, and then somewhere else, you choose the boot order where your previously chosen primary media will show up. Sometimes _boot from usb_ might be disabled at the first place. So check for that also.

Good luck
