Hard Disk Space Shows in One Place, Shows Less in “Computer” Folder?

I just installed Fedora on my laptop which has a 320GB Hard Drive. When I went to Home -- Properties, it said I have 45GB capacity. How does this make sense? I hope I'm missing something here. Here are some pictures.

You have 45 GB free in your root partition, but 258 GB in your home partition! :)

The home partition, /home, contains all of your user data, and the root partition, /, contains system data. Partitioning them seperately allows you to do things like perform a fresh installation of the next version of Fedora without affecting your files and user settings.
